About 75 strong showed up in support of Jeff Bereza as he opened up his headquarters for the upcoming provincial election.

The Portage la Prairie MLA candidate for the Progressive Conservatives held a grand opening of his office at 236 Sask. Ave. E. on Wednesday afternoon and the people made the event very special for him.

"It's just good to see, the conversation around Portage la Prairie and the positivity around Portage la Prairie," says Bereza. "It was really coming through in all the people that came through the door. It was so nice to see such a mixture, from a little one that was about five years old, to all walks of people, were in the office."

Bereza has been knocking on doors finding out what Portagers want to see from their government prior to polls closing on October 3rd.

"Seniors are concerned about some of the issues with, 'Am I going to be able to stay home?' Healthcare is a big one. Crime, of course, is another one that I hear at the door, economic development," lists Bereza. "I'm meeting a lot of new Canadians, and a lot of new people that are here, from Portage, and to hear their positivity -- it gives me positivity."
