The people of Portage-Lisgar have overwhelmingly spoken.

As of 10:45 p.m., unofficial results show Portage la Prairie's Branden Leslie will represent the riding in Ottawa, as the Conservative Party of Canada candidate picked up roughly 63 percent of the vote.

Leader of the People's Party of Canada, Maxime Bernier, will finish second with roughly 18 percent. In 2021, the PPC finished second in the riding as well with approximately 22 percent.

Kerry Smith and the Liberal Party are projected to finish third (roughly 9 percent), while Lisa Tessier-Burch of the NDP (roughly 8 percent) and Nicolas Geddert of the Green Party (roughly 2 percent) are projected to finish fourth and fifth respectively.

We expect to hear from Branden Leslie shortly.
