The Terriers took on the Waywayseecappo Wolverines last night at their home rink at Stride Place. Portage left the rink with a 6-0 win against Waywayseecappo. With the Dogs coming off of a 5-0 win against Neepawa, and the Wolverines recovering from a 2-3 loss against the Virden Oil Capitals, it seems the Terriers will continue their winning streak for more games to come.

The game started fairly quietly until 10 minutes into the game, when Scott Mickoski, with an assist from Joey Moffatt scored the first and only goal in the first period. The rest of the first period consisted of some great hockey, with both teams coming back and forth on the ice very quickly and with skilled stick handling.

The second period started off very quickly with a goal less than a minute in from Braden Billaney with assists from Ocean Wiesblatt and Reilly Funk. Which then led to the Wolverines coming back with three goals in two minutes. The Dogs saw an opening and Joey Moffatt took it with the help of Orca Wiesblatt and Caelan McPhee, bring the score to 3-2. The second period transitioned into the third with the Terriers playing very good defence.

The third period began with more good hockey from the Terriers, with more great plays and more amazing stick handling. The Dogs' Reece Henry with an assist from Logan Calder, scored the 4th goal of the game. Two minutes passed and Kolton Shindle with help from Jared Roy and Sam Huston scored which made the score 5-3. The game proceeded to be very back and forth until the game had less than a minute left when Braden Billaney got his second of the night, making the score 6-3.

The Terriers plan to ride this win to their next game against the Wolverines tonight in the Waywayseecappo. Puck drop for that game is set for 6:00 p.m.
