The Portage la Prairie Community Revitalization Corporation held their Annual General Meeting last night at the Herman Prior Centre. Executive Director Victoria Espey says it's a good feeling to see the organization reach the ten year mark.

"We're really grateful to celebrate our tenth anniversary in the community," says Espey. "It's a huge milestone for us. We've had a lot of successes over the past ten years, and a lot of great people are a part of this organization, so we're very happy to celebrate those milestones, those people, the projects that we've had."

Portage Mayor Irvine Ferris was there, and says the city's been very happy with the partnership with the PCRC.

"Over the past ten years the PCRC has been in existence, they have built a sense of community here in Portage la Prairie," Ferris says. "I think our community has become more vibrant, they're very good at citizen engagement, and community engagement, and we saw that tonight with a number of local organizations making presentations."

The meeting included presentations by ROK Central, Immigration, and La Verendrye School. Espey notes the the partnerships with local organizations have been beneficial for everyone involved.
