The House of Commons debates a Bloc Quebecois motion tomorrow recognizing Quebec as a nation.

This afternoon, Prime Minister Harper announced he'll introduce a motion recognizing the province as a nation within a united Canada.

Portage-Lisgar MP Brian Pallister supports the motion, but feels this resurrects a debate that always divides the country. He adds it does nothing to improve the lives of Quebecers or anyone else in Canada.

Pallister believes this move stands up for a united Canada, and in no way endorses a separate Quebec. He adds the Bloc's motion forced the government's hand, and they've made an appropriate response.
