Canada Day celebrations are happening all across the country and all across the Central Plains as well.

In Portage la Prairie, Stride Place is the place to be, as fun will be had all day long. 

The pancake breakfast by the Portage Rotary Club runs from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. with the unveiling of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Garden set to take place right after. The opening ceremonies is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to noon with the cake cutting to follow. The main stage entertainment has a bit of everything, with Rainy Day Apparel kicking things off at noon. Terry Human starts at 1:10 p.m. and the Jingle Dress Dancers take over at 2. Doubletalk performs at 2:25 and Azaria Neuschwander wraps things up at 3:30.

Bouncy castles, tattoos and face painting, a bubble station and an obstacle course will be set up for the kids from noon until 4 p.m. A BBQ by the Portage Parks Committee will run at the same time.

Into the evening, the "Big" Duck Race for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Plains will happen at 6 p.m. at Splash Island. Public swimming runs from noon to 5:30 p.m. and the fireworks show will happen at dusk. (Approximately, 11 p.m.) See the poster here.

Around the region, Elm Creek will hold a free pancake breakfast beginning at 8:30 a.m. with a parade, BBQ lunch, dunk tank, kids train ride, pony rides, a petting zoo and so much more. They'll also wrap up their event with fireworks at dusk. Read more about the event here.

In Roseisle, they'll hold a waffle breakfast at 8 a.m. and they will feature barrel train rides and lawn mower races, among other events. Read more about the event here.

Clearwater has their annual baseball tournament which is back for the 71st year. Read more about the tournament here.

The RM of Westlake-Gladstone is holding a "Hollywood Beach Canada Day Celebration", which includes a movie on the beach, live local entertainment, and so much more. Read more at their website here.
