The Carman RCMP are prepared to deal with the public in many languages.

Sergeant Mark Lemaistre says a language barrier does not come up often, but they have bilingual staff in place.

They have a number of French-speaking staff in the Carman area, so they offer their services in both official languages.

He says they recognize there are many Dutch and German-speaking people in the area, and try to be sensitive to this fact.
They have an auxiliary officer in Morden who speaks High and Low German.

Lemaistre says they do not come across this problem very often, and he feels they are prepared for when they do.
