Portage la Prairie's Herman Prior Centre's been converted into a theatre, as the Prairie Drama Academy presents their interpretation of This Is Me this weekend.

Cast member Brittany Boschman tells us it's something of an experiment.

"We're very excited," she says, "It's come together so well. We have such a diverse cast, and so many talented people. We've been rehearsing for about nine months."

Director Chris Kitchen's excited, noting the play has several components.

"There's a choir, there's the dance team, and a there's a drama team," he says, "So the three parts have come together. This is unique in itself, because I don't think in Portage, we've ever done anything that has a choir as an actual part of the musical. And James Reynolds from PCI is our musical director, and he has put this choir together, and it's just amazing."

There are performances tonight, tomorrow night, and Saturday night, with a matinee Saturday afternoon.
