The Municipality of Westlake-Gladstone is looking to amend some of its zoning bylaws.  It's in the process of holding open houses to get the public's opinion.  Mayor David Single had this to say.

"We had a fairly good crowd," says Single. "They basically had questions and we had answers which pointed to the way people would like the municipality to go as far as development and zoning."

Single notes the opinion so far seems to be to stay the course and encourage slow and steady growth rather than push forward at a higher pace.

"We're not changing anything drastically in our zoning bylaw," adds Single. "Basically there were three zoning bylaws from the old municipalities we're putting together.  There will be some minor changes but nothing too great.  The idea is to have them in place so development can occur."

Single also notes any changes to the zoning bylaws will not be finalized this year but early in 2019.
