Two teams remain in the hunt for the MJHL Championship. Last night, the Steinbach Pistons eliminated the Winnipeg Blues 4 games to 2 after picking up a 3-2 victory in Winnipeg. The Pistons won the league in 2013 and were the top team in the regular season. They've also been in the final two of the last three seasons. Their opponent? The Virden Oil Caps. The Caps finished second in the regular season and are making their first ever appearance in the final. Both teams have been red hot in the playoffs so far. Virden has an 8-1 record while Steinbach is 8-2.

The schedule for the final is expected in the next couple of days and the Pistons will have home ice advantage meaning the first game will be in Steinbach. The eventual winner will compete in the Anavet Cup against the champions of the SJHL. Four teams remain in the hunt in that league. Estevan, North Battleford, Humboldt and Nipawin.
