We are in the midst of May long weekend and people are making the most of the warm weather. Which makes us think of BBQ's. And camping. And golf. And fishing. Working in the yard. Seeding for producers. And.....well you get the picture.

Here is a rundown of some local activities and things you may want to check out this Victoria Day weekend.

Stride Place is a busy place with the final of the Centennial Cup this afternoon. The Terriers beat Yarmouth Friday night but lost out in the semi-finals to Battlefords last night. Tickets are available for the games between Brooks and Battlefords here. If you can't make it out to see it live, you can listen here.

How about some golf? Courses are in great shape for the time of year and Portage, Southport, Bridges in Starbuck, MacGregor, Gladstone, Scottswood Links in Elm Creek and the Delahunt course at Treherne are all taking tee times now.

Fishing?  Back again for the umpteenth year is the fishing derby in support of Children's Wish at Sportsmen's Corner. In fact, almost all provincial parks are now open and camping is a popular May long weekend activity for sure.

The Treherne North Stars are back with their annual May long weekend slo-pitch tournament. It raises money for different causes in the area and is usually the first slo-pitch event each year. Details here.

How about garage sale-ing? To find out where they are any given weekend or to list yours for free this summer, click here! Most of the sales are done for this weekend but expect the calendar to be very full for the next month.
