Marsh fire near Westbourne

While it may not be as large or imposing as some of the fires affecting communities in northern Manitoba, there is a marsh fire in the area near the community of Westbourne.

At approximately 1 a.m., Portage la Prairie fire crews were dispatched to the blaze northwest of Portage. Firefighters are still on scene working and it is being described as a large marsh fire. The fire is approximately 14 kilometers northeast of Westbourne on Road 80N. There is no word on how the fire started.'
