Portage la Prairie RCMP arrested a 36-year-old man after he refused to pull over.

Police were making patrols at 11:30 p.m. on Friday, May 5th, and attempted to make a traffic stop with a vehicle on Saskatchewan Avenue. At first, the driver continued on, before finally coming to a stop on 4th Street NW. The 36-year-old man refused to get out and police had to remove him. He was placed under arrest and now faces charges of Flight from Police and Resist Arrest.

He was released to appear in court at a later date. The driver also had his licence suspended previously, so his vehicle was towed and impounded for a minimum of 30 days.
