The Manitoba Agricultural Museum in Austin is inviting you to spend Louis Riel Day with them. Ag Museum Executive Director Georgette Hutlet outlines the event.

"Monday is Louis Riel Day at the museum. We are running from 3 PM until 8 PM. We are going to have families arriving with toboggans. We have a couple of tobogganing hills built. There is a tiny one for little visitors and a much higher hill for anyone who likes a bit of a challenge."

She notes there are a number of other activities planned as well.

"We've expanded a little bit. We are also going to be having our light show in the Homesteaders' Village lit at around 5 PM, weather permitting we will have the horse sleigh rides, we'll have the fire pits with hotdog's and hot chocolate available. We will also have our museum bannock and you can have some jam or jelly on it that is made from museum grown fruit."

Hutlet says everyone is welcome and encourages people to take advantage of the day off.

"This is a family day and it's great to be able to have the opportunity to offer a day at the museum where families can come and enjoy outdoor activities."

Louis Riel Day festivities run from 3 PM to 8 PM at the Manitoba Agricultural Museum in Austin.
