The federal long gun registry remains in force, after yesterday's House of Commons vote that defeated a bill by Portage-Lisgar MP Candice Hoeppner to abolish it.

 

It's an issue that won't go away, though, with the Conservatives pledging to make it an election issue. Portage-Lisgar Liberal Riding Association President Shawn Rawlings admits there was concern among his party about some rural NDP members who were going to vote in favour of scrapping the registry.....
