The 2023 Canada Winter Games are officially underway.

Speedskater Sofia Bieber of Winnipeg carried Manitoba’s flag and lead Team Toba into the Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island Saturday night for the opening ceremony.

Saturday was also a practice day for all sports and competition begins Sunday in female curling, freestyle ski, male hockey, ringette, squash and table tennis.

Biathlon, gymnastics, speed skating and wheelchair basketball all have practice days.
