Project Patio is gearing up for the excitement that the many events all over Manitoba this weekend will bring.

What's happening before the big weekend will be a concert in the park, which is taking place on Thursday. There is a barbeque starting at 6:00 that evening, with music following shortly after at 7:00 pm. Some performers include John Dietrich, Mark Morrisseau, the Metis Prairie Steppers, and more. In case of rain, the event will be moved indoors to the Herman Prior Center. With great food, music, and free entry, everyone must attend this great weeknight event.

On Friday and Saturday, Project Patio will attend the Portage Ex Fair, one of the weekend highlights. Many events will be brought to this fair, including various activities for kids, as well as barrel racing, cattle showings, rides, beer gardens, and much more. Many vendors will be showcasing what they have to offer, such as home living and various quilt displays. Live entertainment will be performed on the main stage throughout the days of the fair, which is sure to keep crowds enthused all weekend long. Although we are only staying for the first two days, the fair will go on all day Sunday as well.

Also happening this weekend is the Carberry Fair. The fair is a great tradition in Carberry and has many things to offer from Friday through to Sunday. Most events at the fair will be happening on Saturday, the day starts off with a pancake breakfast. Also Saturday is a parade, children’s activities, a horse show, 4-H showings, and various chariot and chuckwagon races. The day has something to keep everyone entertained.

Another big event going on from July 5-7 is Eriksdale Creamery Days, which is a fair and a rodeo. Project Patio will be traveling down to Eriksdale on Sunday to see what great things are going on at the event. We will be there to see all the kids' activities and some of the rodeo, but there are many other parts of the fair happening throughout the weekend. On Saturday in the museum, they will have many vendors and exhibits, and following that will be many different bands and acts on their entertainment stage. Earlier in the day there will be a pancake breakfast, parade, barbeque lunch, and much more down at Creamery Days.

Amaranth is hosting a Demolition Derby at the Amaranth Memorial Hall this Saturday. It is a fundraiser for the community to complete their renovations and ongoing costs. The Amaranth community is hoping for it to become an annual event, there will also be many things other than just the derby. There will be candy apples, popcorn, various treats, and barbeque options for the whole family to enjoy.

Last but certainly not least, the Killarney Community Events Committee has announced that there is a concert also happening on Saturday. The main gates, as well as food trucks and the beer gardens, will open at noon. Brett Kissel is the main performer of this fun Kickoff to Summer event with many talented bands and artists following. Fireworks are closing the excitement of the concert at 11:15 pm, it is sure to be a great day for locals and artists.

Although it is a jam-packed weekend, all events will be enjoyable and have a fun atmosphere, make sure to check some of them out. The pictures below are the outlines and plans of the various events for the weekend.
