The poor driving conditions have resulted in a traffic disruption on the Trans Canada Highway just east of Portage, near the Shell station.

The RCMP say a westbound semi-trailer trying to avoid a collision hit a hydro pole, knocking it down.
The police are on the scene. It's reported there's a hydro wire on the highway, so traffic is being re-routed.

Hydro crews are on the scene repairing the damage.
There's no timeline available on when the work will be done.

You're urged to drive carefully if you're in the area.

The RCMP remind you conditions are slippery, with reduced visibility, so if you can, stay off the roads.
