It's been an extremely cold couple of weeks in Portage La Prairie.

For most of us it's an inconvenience, but for the homeless in our community it's a serious issue.

Ron Eldridge of Devoted To You Ministries works to provide for the homeless. He tells us they could use more help, and he lists some of the things they need most.

"Long johns, personal hygiene items, we definitely need that stuff more. tim cards, were asking between five and ten dollars on the card, no more than that. just enough for people to get inside and have a coffee"

He notes the last week or two have been very busy. They have provided the homeless with a lot.

"We've given away quite a bit of stuff in the way of clothing, balaclavas, gloves, just trying to keep them warm."
