Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a special weather statement as a Colorado Low is expected to bring heavy rainfall tonight.

The first wave of showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon with more waves possible throughout tonight and tomorrow. Some areas could see 30 to 50 millimetres but Environment Canada says it's difficult to predict due to developing thunderstorms on both sides of the border. Heavy downpours with much higher localized amounts are possible.

Looking at this past weekend, 1.8 millimetres were recorded at Southport on Sunday with 0.5, 0.7, and 0.4 millimetres recorded Saturday, Friday and Thursday respectively.
