Manitoba RCMP are sharing tragic news Tuesday after an Albertan man died Sunday evening.

RCMP officers from Stonewall / Headingley responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 7, located south of the Provincial Road 229 intersection, on October 1 at 10:00 p.m.

Investigators have determined that a southbound vehicle, driven by a 35-year-old man from Carvel, Alberta, crossed over the center line and collided head-on with a northbound vehicle driven by a 40-year-old woman from Winnipeg. The 35-year-old male was pronounced deceased on scene, and the 40-year-old female was flown to a Winnipeg Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

Stonewall / Headingley RCMP continue to investigate.
