Stonewall RCMP were notified of a gun threat Wednesday morning, causing nearby schools to be placed in a hold and secure situation as a safeguard.

Police promptly responded to the call at 10:15 a.m. and arrived to investigate.

It was reported that an unknown individual had phoned in a firearm threat to the credit union located on Main Street in Teulon. However, after investigating the premises, the RCMP found no credible threat to the business, and the public was not at risk.

Officers are still investigating the threat and the phone call made to report it.
