Lori Grenkow has been appointed as the Director of Regional Services for Red River College. Grenkow says in this position she'll be responsible for the operations and strategic oversight of all five regional campuses, including Portage la Prairie. She notes her role is to be the voice of regional campuses, adding if Red River is presenting any new strategies she can come in with a sober second thought and bring a regional perspective to the discussion. Grenkow says after serving as Regional Campus Manager in Portage for eleven years, she feels she has a very good understanding of those challenges, strengths and needs.

She notes Red River College has done a wonderful job of recognizing the needs of regional campuses and over the last number of years they've secured a significant amount of funding for delivery of subsidized programs. Grenkow adds one of the important aspects of her new role will be to act as an advocate for students who need supports such as counselling, tutoring, and computer lab access.

She says she's happy to see Guy Moffat taking over as Regional Campus Manager in Portage, because he's very well connected to this community and has strong management and leadership experience. Grenkow notes while she's excited about her new position and the opportunity to grow professionally, her heart is a bit heavy because she's been with the staff in Portage for eleven years and considers them family. She adds the nice part is that as Director of Regional Services she gets to travel to the five campuses on a regular basis, so she will certainly be back often and will continue to advocate for Portage la Prairie.
