Portage Fire Department crews were called out Monday for a grain dryer fire that kept firefighters on scene for several hours near the intersection of the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 16.
“Two trucks responded,” notes a fire department spokesperson. “They were there about four hours.”
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and officials say there is no damage estimate available at this time.
In addition to the grain dryer fire, the department also attended a two-vehicle collision at Highway 430 and Highway 26.
No injuries were reported from the collision.
