In Northern League baseball yesterday, the Goldeyes received an extra inning offensive surge and defeated the RedHawks for the third straight game, completing the series sweep.

Joe Brown improved his record to 2-1 thanks to Fehlandt Lentini's one-out single that scored Matt Mann from third in the bottom of the 11th inning, giving the Fish a 4-3 win. Other Winnipeg highlights include homeruns from Mann and Jimmy Hurst.

Goldeyes Coach, Steve Maddock, says getting the win is the most important thing, but he feels the Fish should have put the game away much sooner. He adds after committing a couple of errors late in the contest, he's pleased with the resolve of his team, not getting down on themselves, regrouping and eventually garnering the victory.

The Goldeyes will now get three days off as part of the All-Star break. Six Winnipeg players have been selected to take part in the All-Star game, including Josh Beshears, Jimmy Hurst, Fehlandt Lentini, Aaron Mendoza, Josh Kite and Howard Pence. The East will take on the West in the All-Star game tomorrow night in Kansas City.
