UPDATE:

On February 29, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Gimli RCMP responded to a report of a man who discharged a firearm toward two individuals during a dispute which occurred at a residence located on Lake Avenue, in Gimli.

The two victims, a 55-year-old woman, from Fisher River Cree Nation, and a 27-year-old man, from Kinonjeoshtegon (Jackhead) First Nation, had left the scene and contacted police. The 28-year-old man was reported to also have left the residence and his current whereabouts were unknown.

Officers met with the victims and attended to the residence where the incident occurred. Inside the home, a 32-year-old woman, from Kinonjeoshtegon (Jackhead) First Nation, was located and arrested after officers located an unsecured firearm in the home. This firearm wasn't believed to have been the one used by the suspect. The 32-year-old woman was transported to the Gimli RCMP Detachment where she declined to speak with police.

No injuries were reported.

Patrols were made in the area, but the suspect wasn't located.

RCMP have issued a Warrant of Arrest out for 28-year-old Joseph Henderson, of Fort Alexander, who has yet to be located. He’s believed to be in the City of Winnipeg. He has been charged with Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats and numerous firearms-related offences. He’s considered armed and dangerous and police are asking that he not be approached.

An advisory has been issued by Gimli RCMP after shots were fired at a residence in Gimli. Nobody was injured.

The suspect fled the scene. It is believed to be an isolated incident.

The suspect and residents are known to each other.
