Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) issued a Freezing Rain Warning for Portage la Prairie.

As of 1:57 p.m., the warning was issued as the Doppler RADAR indicates a band of freezing rain stretching from Portage to just north of Morris, and this band of freezing rain is moving toward the northeast.

ECCC has advised that the freezing rain should ease by this evening.

"Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions," ECCC noted during the Freezing Rain Warning.
