The battle royale game Fortnite has become quite a hit with Millennials and Gen Z.

Most recently a 16-year-old won 3 million dollars at the Fortnite World Cup last weekend.

To learn more about what exactly Fortnite is we asked 13-year-old Liam Bencharski to explain what the game is.

"Fortnite is an online competitive game," says Bencharski. "The objective is to get to first place which is to take out a bunch of people until you get 99 people down."

Fortnite Became popular in 2018. The game has made billions of dollars and continues to dominate the industry. Bencharski outlines the process of what it takes to become a pro and make it into big tournaments.

"You have to be playing competitive which is arena you play per points. As soon as you get to (a score of) 300 then you get into Champions League, then you can play in semifinals and finals, and then get to World Cup if you advance," says Bencharski. "But you have to be really good to get to those higher ranks."

Liam says that he plays the game a lot but is trying to cut back because the game is addicting.

"If you don't get that win when you're driving towards it. It's hard to know that you haven't won."
