Portage la Prairie welcomed the Table for 600 Friday night with many smiles, costumes, and unique tables.

Executive director for Central Plans Cancer Services (CPCS), Sharilyn Knox, says she is happy about the support from the community for this event. Although the event was moved indoors, they had a great turnout this year of over 500 people.

“What's amazing about this event is that people come together and take the time to decorate their tables and have all this creativity. It's so fun and we're just thrilled to have everyone here today.”

Knox highlights she was blown away with the decor for themes, and that every year since 2018, the ideas continue to get better. She notes that she is grateful for all the volunteers that she has worked with to make Table for 600 possible.

Ian Wishart showed his support by joining the farm accounting-themed table. He expresses that his favourite part of Table for 600 is being able to give back and support the community.

“How the community can come together and raise funds for a good cause is my favourite part, it is nice to come to see all the decorations and the people. This year has been very well done.”

With everyone showing their festive spirit for this event, Peter Fedak was a part of the “Come Flamingo with Us” table.

“We just came out of winter and to have that tropical theme get out and just enjoy the warmer weather. Having all that happiness is great as we are always looking forward to summer.”
