Have you thought about the impact AIDS is having on our world?

We're being asked to do that today when Golden West Radio partners with MCC to raise money for the victims of HIV/AIDS in Africa.

Sane Dube grew up in Zimbabwe and her oldest brother died of AIDS.
About 1 in 4 people in Zimbabwe are HIV positive and having the disease in her country is basically a death sentence because there is very little medical help.

Dube says one of the most interesting things about living in North America is realizing that having HIV doesn't necessarily mean you will die right away because there are good treatments.

She adds it's frustrating to think just because people are born in Zimbabwe they don't have access to that help.
She feels if we say we live in a global world then we need to get involved and care about something that is affecting the majority of the world's population.

The money from today's fundraiser will go toward MCC's Generations at Risk program in Africa.
