With a new year just around the corner, the Reeve for the R.M. of Dufferin says Council will continue to fulfill its mandate to ratepayers in 2016.

George Gray explains there are a few concerns that arose this past year that the municipality would like to clear up this coming year.

"We have some concerning water loss issues in our distribution system, but our utility employees and Council are working towards finding a solution in conjunction with Pembina Valley Water Co-op."

The Reeve adds reassessment values are also on Council's radar for 2016.

"Reassessment has raised some concerns in regards to tax increases for 2016. We will paying close attention during the budget process to make sure the mil rate reflects a prudent overview of our financial requirements."

Meantime, Gray says the purchase of two new graders in 2015 will help the R.M. maintain its service to ratepayers at the highest level in 2016.
