The Portage Terriers are looking to get back in the win column tonight as they take on the Steinbach Pistons in MJHL action.

The Terriers are currently on their first losing streak of the year as they fell to the OCN Blizzard on Saturday(October 19th) and lost to the Waywayseecapo Wolverines just two days ago.

Their last game saw the Terriers hold a two-goal lead heading into the final frame, they were just unable to hold on, eventually losing in overtime. Forward Reece Henry talks about what went wrong in their last time out.

"I think we just got out-worked in the third period, plain and simple," says Henry. "We have got to be better. When you're up 3-1 in the third period, you have to be able to lock those games down."

Despite the two losses, the dogs are still first place in the MJHL standings with 21 points. They also lead in goal differential by a large margin, having a +17 with the next highest being just +8. The Terriers are also still the best on both the power-play and penalty kill.

The Pistons, on the other hand, are not to be taken lightly. They are just three points back of Portage in the standings with 18 points. They also handed the dogs their first loss of the season just over two weeks ago.

While the last few outings haven't ended positively for Portage there are still some bright spots to build on. Defenseman Cody Thompson talks about what some of those were.

"I think, for the period we were skating hard, we were winning battles," says Thompson. "We had some offensive zone possession. We had a lot of shots on net and the power-play was good. We just have to round it out for 60 minutes."

The Terriers will look to turn things around tonight at 7:30 at Stride Place. You can listen to the game live on CFRY and on PortageOnline.com.
