Dakota Tipi First Nation Chief Eric Pashe attended his first Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs meeting last week in Thompson, since being elected in his community. Pashe outlines what took place.

"What was highlighted there was the education, CFS initiatives, and service delivery," explains Pashe. "We discussed those areas in regard to improving the service delivery for the communities and working collectively in terms of resolutions on behalf of the communities. It was about enhancing service delivery and program delivery in those areas."

Pashe notes it was a learning experience for him in regard to what he'd take back to the community following the resolutions and initiatives that were passed.

He says the education strategies they have to focus on collectively comprise a large task in order to fulfil the resolutions passed. Pashe adds these initiatives were long outstanding ones for his community, ading that's an area they certainly need to enhance and focus on in the future.
