The Portage Terriers were dominant from start to finish on Thursday night as they beat the Winnipeg Freeze 7-0. The Terriers have now won three in a row for the first time this season.

The game opened with the Terriers storming out of the gate and scoring three quick goals. Owen Witt opened the scoring with his third of the season when his point shot found its way through traffic. Two minutes later, Slade Stanick finished off a beautiful passing play with a tap-in goal. He then scored his second of the night snapping a perfect shot over the shoulder of Winnipeg goalie Nicolas Rempel.

Daniel Siso extended the Terrier lead early in the second when his point shot squeezed through the pads of Rempel. Portage continued to apply pressure and Evan LaChimea finished off a perfect pass from Gabriel Laflamme on a 2 on 1.

After some penalty trouble early in the third period, the Terriers picked up where they left off in the second. Decker Mujcin snapped home a shot upstairs and Nolan Nenow banged in a loose puck to make it 7-0. Gavin Renwick was solid all night, stopping all 23 shots for his third shutout of the season, the most of any goalie in the league. Portage also finished the night a perfect 7/7 on the penalty kill.

With the victory, the Terriers are now 20-7-3-2 and tied for top spot in the East Division with Steinbach. The two teams have 45 points, the Pistons however have played 4 fewer games.

The Terriers are right back in action on Friday against the Blues. Puck drop is at 7:30 in Winnipeg.
