The Portage and District Chamber of Commerce is sharing construction information they've received with businesses around the community. At the request of the City of Portage, Stantec will be updating the Chamber every second Friday.

The renewal of Saskatchewan Avenue began Monday.

The latest information shows that watermain final testing and final tie-ins between 21st and Elm Streets will require water service interruptions at Dollarama, Burger King and Boston Pizza. A minimum of 24 hours notice will be given before this work begins. They plan to do this work in the early morning to minimize the impact to businesses.

Land drainage sewer installation will take place between 18th Street and 16th Street.

An update from the City of Portage shows '2023 stage 1' of the project will involve completion of pavement renewal from 4th Street NW to 7th Street NW. '2023 Stage 2' will be 7th Street NW to 20th Street NW (starting on the north side). On-street parking will be removed, traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction, and there will be closures of several streets.
