Crescent Lake has looked beautiful throughout spring and the City is hoping to keep it that way throughout the summer.
Portage la Prairie will begin weed control treatment on Crescent Lake on June 19th. There is no swimming allowed for 24 hours following the herbicide application. Signs will be placed along the lake bank for those wanting to enter the lake.
The treatment is expected to take two-to-four weeks, depending on the weather.
In 2022, the city applied the herbicide on multiple occasions, treating the water in June and August.
