There won't be a Central Region Juried Art Exhibit in 2020 after running for thirty years.

However, Prairie Fusion Arts and Entertainment executive director Margaret Bernhardt Lowdon says it will recommence in 2021.

"Unfortunately, we weren't able to get funding this year," says Bernhardt Lowdon. "We usually get a grant for the Juried Art Exhibit. But we were unsuccessful this year. So, what we're going to be doing is looking for alternative funding. We won't get it in time for this coming season."

She says it seems to have been budget cuts with the grant funding group.

Bernhardt Lowdon explains what the Juried exhibit is all about.

"It's an opportunity for artists that are established and wanting to become established to exhibit their work," she continues. "And it tours throughout several art council galleries in Manitoba. So, it gives them an opportunity to have their work shown. The work is also juried. They have experts come in and they evaluate the art pieces."

She adds they're working as a team with other Arts councils to get the funding, and it will definitely go ahead after next year.
