The Central Plains FC has moved back down to fourth place in the Manitoba Major Soccer League Division 4 standings. The squad dropped a hard-fought game last night 3-2 to Pescara FC. Goaltender Daylen Green says emotions ran high in this one.

"It was a tough game. We were missing our goalie, so I was filling in. Things got a little heated toward the end, and it was hard to keep it cool," Green explains. "We didn't have favourable calls, but that happens in soccer."

This game was a battle for third place in the standings, but Green believes they can still make that ground up.

"We're still sitting nicely in the standings. It hurts losing this one, but all we can do is just bounce back and try to get back into it. We want to get back to our winning form and finish out the season strong."

Despite the loss last night, Central Plains won their previous game 6-0, and Green thinks they've shown a lot of bright spots in recent weeks.

"These last couple of games, we've been doing really well with our passing and communication. We've been getting stronger as a team over time, and I just want to continue to see that moving forward."

Central Plains will be back in action at Rotary Republic of Manitobah Park on August 30.
