Carman Council is in the midst of putting together its budget for 2016/17.

Mayor Bob Mitchell says included in the to-do list for next year are a variety of street rebuilding and resurfacing projects, consultations into the state of the water treatment plant and dealing with water storage capacity concerns.

The Mayor also says that Council is working closely with the R.M. of Dufferin in researching the possibility of establishing a fire hall in Roseisle.

"There's a lot of people out in that area and they're serviced right now by St. Claude. We just felt that it would be better if they had their own and our fire department guys have lined up all the volunteers to start a new volunteer fire department out there."

This subject will come up during the Town and R.M.'s annual joint planning session in January.

Mitchell adds Council is also discussing building a washroom facility at the soccer pitches and ball diamonds in town.
