A man from Carman faces charges after a traffic stop for dangerous driving revealed guns and drugs in his car.

Regina police say officers stopped a Chevy Impala travelling at high speeds and passing vehicles in a narrow underpass.

Police say when two officers tried to arrest the driver for dangerous driving, he assaulted them. A search of the vehicle revealed ammunition, cocaine, methamphetamine, tranquillizers, a baton, and thousands of dollars in cash.

The 24-year-old driver faces charges including resist arrest, two counts of assaulting a peace officer, dangerous driving, a weapons charge and several drug charges.
