The Portage Regional Library was packed last night for the launch of Terrie Todd's new book 'The Silver Suitcase'. Todd says she was overwhelmed at the turnout.

"It was really overwhelming. We planned to start at 6:30, and so I got there about 6:00 thinking we'd have time to settle in. And someone was already waiting there saving a seat. She said, "So, can I go ahead and buy my book?' I said, 'Sure.' And by the time I got done signing her book, there was a about five people waiting. And we just kept going like that."

Todd describes the crowd.

"It was just overwhelming. Well, we sold about 150 books, and I think there was almost that many people there. It was squishy, but exciting. A lot of people read my column in the paper so they know me from there. Just so encouraging. It is kind of a big blur to me now. It's a good thing we have some pictures so I can know that it really happened."

Jon ToddTodd's husband, Jon Todd, helped out with the launch, and says he told his wife she'd probably sell out of a case of book in the first half hour, and she laughed. However, that's practically what happened. He said he's proud of Terrie and was glad to see such a great show of people.
