February has been proclaimed Manitoba Inclusive Education Month. Portage School Division Assistant Superintendent Mike Mauws tells us what it's all about.

"This is really to recognize Manitoba Education's commitment to enhancing the well-being of students, including all students with diverse needs, so that they have a real sense of personal belonging and achievement."

Mauws says the program is associated with the Exceptional Children program.

"This is certainly something that divisions across the province, including the Portage School Division, are very committed to and working hard to programming and providing additional support to students who require additional assistance to be successful. It's generally tied win with the Manitoba Council For Exceptional Children's annual conference that's held every February."
