The Portage Phillies return to Republic Park tonight hoping to keep their red-hot hitting going.

The Phils lead the Winnipeg Fastball League with 110 runs scored in just ten games this season. Catcher Cliff McCartney has been getting in on the hit parade. He leads the team with four homeruns and provides a steady presence behind the plate.

He says everything's been going well so far this year.

The Phillies are back at home tonight to take on McKay United, one of three new teams in the league this season.

McCartney says they're expecting a good challenge from the young squad.

The Phillies and United get their double-header underway at 7:00 pm tonight at Republic Park.
