More information has been released regarding Canada's 2021 census, which shows the province of Manitoba has aged slightly, as has Portage la Prairie and many surrounding communities across the Central Plains.

The City of Portage saw its average age rise from 40.6 to 41.3 years of age while the Rural Municipality of Portage rose from 38.1 to 38.7.

Looking at both the Central Plains and the Interlake, some communities did get younger. The Town of Carberry dropped from 43.4 to 41.7 years of age while the Town of Teulon dipped down to 45 from 46.3.

Interestingly enough, the RM of Armstrong's average age stayed the same at 43.4.
