A call's going out to all young Safe Manitobans who have a knack for drawing to enter a contest and win an iPad. Jamie Hall, Safe Work Manitoba chief operating officer, explains the categories for the artwork.

Jamie Hall (submitted photo)"It's an annual contest we run this time of year, focused on young Manitobans ages 6-12 asking them to draw and submit a picture showing how to find a safer way when faced with the four common hazards that people face on farms related to livestock, grain, farm equipment or to chemicals."

He says the contest's been successful, especially last year with 147 entries and awareness publicized through social media. Hall says the top 12 drawings will be included in next year's Safe Work calendar. The deadline's April 22.

Youth can go to this website: www.safemanitoba.com/Resources/Pages/SAFE-Farms-Drawing-Contest.aspx

People will then vote on their favourite drawing.
