Further news became available today regarding the two incidents this morning in Portage la Prairie when RCMP executed search warrants. The two incidents were connected.

"The RCMP in Portage la Prairie, along with Critical Incident Command out of Winnipeg, executed a search warrant on 5th Street NW in regard to a person that is wanted," explains RCMP Community and Liaison Officer Constable Larry Neufeld, "Mateo Roulette -- 20-years old from Portage la Prairie. Upon entering the residence, it was determined that Mr. Roulette was not in the residence. And subsequently, a second search warrant was executed on 1st Street Southwest and Dufferin Avenue area, and searched for the same individual. At that location as well, he was not there. We are still in search of Mr. Roulette."

Roulette is described as a 20-year old Indigenous man with a slender build, standing 5’7” tall, weighing approximately 160 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He is believed to be in the Portage la Prairie area. Roulette is currently charged with assault, theft under $5,000 and three counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.
