On the afternoon of April 23, shortly after 1:15, Treherne RCMP received a call about an unwanted person at a business on Highway #2 in Treherne. Media Liaison Officer Constable Larry Neufeld explains.

"When officers arrived, it was learned that the suspect related to this call was in possession of a stolen vehicle from Beausejour," says Neufeld. "The vehicle was reported stolen the day before."

The suspect fled the scene prior to the officers' arrival, however, the RCMP police dog service was in attendance and they were able to locate the individual a short distance away.

Neufeld talks about the charges being faced due to this incident.

"A 34-year-old male from Lac du Bonnet was arrested and charged with, possession of property obtained by crime, obstructing a police officer, fraudulently obtaining food or lodging, possession of methamphetamines, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order," says Neufeld. "A 25-year-old female from Winnipeg was also arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime and possession of methamphetamines."

Both suspects were remanded into custody to appear in court at a later date.
