The Royal Canadian Legion is putting out a military recognition book identifying veterans of the two world wars and Stonewall's council is taking out a quarter page ad in support of it.

Stonewall deputy Mayor Clive Hinds explains why council feels this is important.

"We feel it's very, very important because [we're] one of the communities who really has been in support of the vets. We have so many people from this area, and the Rockwood area that surrounds us, that were in the First and Second World War that, in fact, we have the Memorial Park that is right at Second Avenue and Main Street in Stonewall that is in support of the Stonewall vets."

He adds supporting this keeps with the values of the community.
