A 28-year-old St. Claude man is wanted by RCMP following a police pursuit last week.

Police say on March 31 around 10 p.m., Treherne RCMP were patrolling St Claude, when they saw a Chrysler 300 driving erratically through the parking lot of Tall Boys Bar and Grill. The vehicle was then observed travelling at nearly triple the posted speed limit through the community. After only a few minutes the vehicle was abandoned by a male driver. Despite the best efforts of local police and the police services dog, the suspect evaded capture that night.

The investigation continued and officers have identified the suspect as Matthew Joseph Heintz, 28, of St. Claude, Manitoba.

Heintz is presently at large on charges of operating a motor vehicle while being pursued, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and driving while prohibited.

If you have any knowledge of Heintz’ current whereabouts, please contact the Treherne RCMP at 204-723-2024. Anonymous tips can be made through Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and www.manitobacrimestoppers.com. Tips leading to the capture and prosecution of Heintz may receive cash awards.
