The RM of Cartier recently received a request for financial support from the Village of Springstein. Reeve Dale Fossay says the village wants to put an automated external defibrillator---known as an AED---in the local church, which also serves as a community hall. Fossay notes the request was for thirteen hundred dollars and the RM council passed a resolution to support that endeavour. He says the community of Springstein's church and hall serves between thirty and fifty homes in the municipality's eastern end, adding more and more of these AEDs are being placed wherever the public gathers. Fossay notes certainly if it's important to them, it's important to the RM council.
